I’ll be playing on the News-Press “Celebrity Basketball Team” Saturday night.
That shows you what a small town this is. The newspaper and Cablevision will be taking on a team from KQ2 and Eagle Radio. I’ve been assigned No. 23, in honor of Michael Jordan. I’m still trying to figure out what the two of us have in common.
The game starts at 6 p.m. at the Missouri Western Field House. It’s a charity game to benefit United Way.
Come out and cheer on my teammates. I’ll be cheering them on from the bench.
The News-Press waged a valiant effort, but fell short of the combined KQ2/Eagle Radio team. The broadcasting team only had one female; our team had four and one of them was me. Another of our guys didn’t show, so really it was 8 against 10. I did play the last minute of the game and even though my teammate threw me the ball, I freaked and dodged out of the way. The beginning and end of my promising charity basketball career.
