It’s that wonderful time of year when sandals come out and toe nails get dressed up in nail polish.
As a “word person,” I will not buy a nail polish unless I like it’s name – the word that describes the color. Right now, I’ve got on a bright Twinkled Pink. When I’m feeling sassy, I’ll [...]

Margin Call: For the love of money

Debit cards, automatic deposits and electronic transfers can make money seem less like a tangible thing and more like a concept.Like love or time travel, it’s somewhere out there, just out of reach. Then, on the first cool day of fall, you reach for your jacket, put your hand in the pocket and you’ve found it. I’ll give credit to the hospital where I was born for making the last two digits of my number so small. Through the ease of direct deposit, there was a $600 gift sitting in my account Wednesday. It’s great. It’s wonderful.
But [...]

It was raining when I came home for lunch. After soup and a sandwich, I hopped in the car and headed back to work.
However, it seemed to be raining harder than I realized because I could hardly see. I turned the windshield wipers on high. That didn’t help much, so I figured it must be [...]
