Susan Mires realizes you do not need to read her views about St. Joseph’s infrastructure, farm fresh vegetables or the truth of God’s word, so she really appreciates you taking the time to do so. May you find it enjoyable, if not informative and uplifting.
Susan has always been a writer of some sort and has been delighted to even make money doing it. She has worked at several newspapers, including 10 years as the agriculture reporter, then business editor of the St. Joseph News-Press.
She is now the volunteer coordinator for Abundant Life Hospice, which serves Northeast Kansas and Southeast Nebraska, so she has daily opportunities to cross the river and reflect on it. She is also working as a freelance writer, with pieces appearing in numerous publications.

Hey, Susie – Do you have a counter on your website to let you know how many hits you get? I know you aren’t about numbers, but I thought it might be kind of neat to see if folks are visiting.
No, I don’t have a counter. The only way I can tell when people are reading is when they leave a counter. So far, this blog has about four known readers. Thank you for your support and feel free to leave a comment!
Hey Susie,
I had an awesome time this weekend and I know Sarah did as well. I hope we didn’t bother you too much. We would love to come back again, maybe even bring Dana with us. Thanks again.
Guess what? WordPress has a built in tracker – I CAN tell how many people view the site. And the most exciting thing – the number is steadily growing! Thank you so much for checking in!
Hey, Susie – Thanks for not mentioning the name of the phone company when you talked about your new, exciting mobile device.
Keep up the great writing. I always read your column first when we get the Sunday paper. Good thing you don’t write for the sports page, or I would have to wrestle that section away from Larry.
I found you again. Yea!
